Under 13 Brentwood V Old Albanians
A scratch 15 Brentwood team drew 5-5 with a mixed ability OA's side

Brentwood started strongly and their early pressure resulted in Number 8 Dom Gillett powering over to score after some good work by the forwards. A well struck conversion attempt by Tommy Watson narrowly missed the left hand upright. Thereafter Brentwood struggled to assert further pressure on OA's, and found themselves defending for long periods of the first half - finally conceding a try late on after concerted OA pressure.

The second half was far more promising for Brentwood. They enjoyed almost all the field position, with OA's managing only a couple of fleeting forays into the Brentwood half. Despite long periods of sustained pressure, Brentwood were unable to turn possession into points, although they did cross the OA's line on 3 or 4 occasions, each effort was disallowed.

The boys should be proud of their efforts. Despite being disappointed with a draw, they were much improved in the second half, when they backed themselves in the rucks and mauls and secured better/quicker ball

As I say this was a scratch 15, with many of the lads playing out of their normal position. What was most pleasing, for the second week in succession, was the boys focus in the warm up resulting in them making a good start to the game.

Well done to all - and many thanks to our excellent hosts!
