Brentwood U13s - 15
Beccehamians U13s - 12

Brentwood U13s continued their good start to the season with a hard fought victory over Beccehamians RFC. A tight opening period saw both sides cancelling each other out, but slowly the Brentwood forwards managed to gain the ascendancy and out muscle their opponents from Kent.

A series of driving maul sucked in the Beccs forwards and Brentwood were then able to win a series of quick rucks before No 8 Jack Cowie stormed over for his 3rd try of the season.

The backs slowly began to see some ball and with the ball being moved well by the centre pairing of Henry Bird and Charlie Noble, Brentwood again looked threatening when in possession.

Brentwood soon got their second try of the afternoon with good approach work from Bird and Chris Gell setting up a good position from which Second Row Charlie Peacock ploughed over the line for a 10-0 half time lead.

Beccehamians looked more dangerous after the break, playing down the slope, and a combination of strong running and poor tackling saw them enjoy plenty of possession and good field positions. The Brentwood defence ultimately held out and a break away try from Cowie saw Brentwood take a 15-0 lead.

At this point, Brentwood lost their concentration and mistakenly sat back allowing Beccs to attack from deep. This resulted in two good tries for the visitors and caused a nervy few minutes before Brentwood held on to win 15-12.
